Btec National Certificate in Sports Exercise (Level 3)
Why choose Btec National Certificate in Sports Exercise (Level 3)?
This course requires students to work both independently and within a group. All tasks are set on paper and are also available on the Colleges ‘P' drive so students can get access to them. Each Unit contains separate tasks that are differentiated by levels (pass, merit and distinction)
Due to the nature and content of this course it can be linked with several other subject areas. The scientific principles make a close link to Biology B Tec / AS level as well as the AS level PE. Many of the Units require extended writing skills so English is another subject that van be linked.
Taking this course will earn students recognised UCAS points (this will be shown later). The course is a good stepping-stone to Higher Education and links well to PE courses such as Sport Science, Physiotherapy, PE Teaching etc. It also provides access to coaching or other jobs within the sporting industry.

Careers and progression
This course is suited for those who wish to have a career in the sporting industry; it can be chosen to go with A level PE.
Entry requirements
A minimum of four GCSE A* - C (or equivalent grades) is required to start this course. If the points have been earned through a B Tec first Diploma course the student must have achieved a Merit grade or higher.
