A-Level History
Why choose A-Level History?
History is fun. And it's frequently said that understanding past helps us to understand the present. However, there is so much history that we cannot study it all; but History A level will give you the equipment to study all the bits you could ever be interested in.
History is built upon a set of core skills which are the basis of most university courses and most jobs. These include the ability to research things, to question and think independently, to synthesize information, to present – and counter – arguments. Every History lesson requires you to think, and will be delivered in a range of ways, including group work, visual focus and source analysis. History also requires you to use ICT to make presentations, movies and for research.
"Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it." - George Santayana
"The history of the world is the world's court of justice." - Friedrich von Schiller
"Who controls the past controls the future." - George Orwell
